Digital Competence Framework: draft Curriculum for Wales 2022 version

What is it?

The Digital Competence Framework sets out digital skills that children should have opportunities to develop, extend and apply across the curriculum.

The framework has been revised for the draft Curriculum for Wales 2022 to reflect current and emerging technologiesA. Skills are now shown along progression steps rather than year groups.

Strands relevant to online safety education include:

  • Identity, image and reputation
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Online behaviour and cyberbullying

Further revisions are being made to the framework following a feedback phase on the curriculum. The new framework will be finalised with other curriculum and assessment arrangements in January 2020.
