What is it?
The 2019 online safety action plan from Welsh Government sets out its commitment to enhance online safety for children and young people in Wales. It is designed to provide a strategic focus and to coordinate the work across government.
The plan summarises the activities undertaken over the past year by Welsh Government and outlines future plans and commitments.
Future plans and commitments include:
- Working with the National Crime Agency to explore opportunities to work together to deliver education and raise awareness of online child abuse and exploitation
- Rolling out a campaign to highlight the issue of coercive control in relationships specifically aimed at young people
- Developing and publishing an online safety toolkit for practitioners working in early years settings
- Developing a series of 6 online safety films for parents, carers and families
