Online Safety Policy and Practice in UK Schools

What is it?

A research report investigating the online safety policy and practices of UK maintained schools.  It summarises the findings of a survey of school leaders, designated safeguarding leads and network managers.

The survey was conducted by RM Education in association with NSPCC.

The report looks at:

  • Leadership and policy provision, including the development of online safety policies and approach
  • Identifying threats and handling online incidents such as coercive sexting incidents
  • Education, support and training, including engaging with parents
  • Technical solutions for review and management

NCA-CEOP was identified as the organisation most likely to be used by school leaders to remain updated on online safety issues.
