RESEARCH AND INSIGHTS

Vulnerable children in the digital world

What is it?

A report that looks at the potential online risks that different groups of children may face online such as cyberbullying, seeing inappropriate content and the pressure to send nude selfies (sexting).

The research explores the experiences of children and young people with:

  • SEN
  • Communication difficulties
  • Mental health difficulties
  • Family and social vulnerabilities e.g. young carers and children in care
  • Physical disabilities

It draws conclusions as to how educators, children’s services and parents and carers can best support these groups.

Published by Internet Matters, the research report is based on annual survey of young people’s views and online experiences.
